“Like all dreamers, I mistook disenchantment for truth.” -Jean-Paul Sartre
My Virtual Dream takes place in an immersive environment that is a wonderspace of neuroscience, multi-media, art and learning experiences.
The engagement center entry is simply called START. You’re curious. What is a virtual dream? What will my dream look like? What will I experience?
The excitement and energy of the uncertainty is palpable. You self-select to become a Dreamer or Observer.
Inside are: The Dreamery and Dream Pods where Dreamers collaborate. Observers wander about anxious for what is about to unfold. Artistic Performers are on stage. A multi-sensory, immersive collision between science and art begins. Individual neuroscience “dreamlets” are transformed into a collaborative awe-inspiring “dreamscape” of sights and sounds.
The immersion center exit is simply called LEARN. This journey into your mind inspires many questions: What did I just experience? How did I, we, do that? What can I learn? What can be healed?
To further your experience My Virtual Dream presents learning opportunities including thought-provoking symposiums, workshops, ‘Artscience cafes,’ and online conversations.
My Virtual Dream is a peek into the future, unleashing human potential by exploring the driving force behind innovation, imagination.
The first half of each session is The Wake Cycle, as a Dreamer you will experience how to control and coordinate your brainwaves by playing a cerebral video game. Powered by the brain-compute interface, the game will be able to recognize when you are relaxed or when your’re focused, and adapt accordingly.
In the second half, The Dream Sequence, you are part of a group, and the group’s collective brain waves power and shape the abstract dreamscape of audio and visual projections.
Based on the collective brain state of the Dreamers, animations and sounds inspired by one of the five main frequencies of the human brain (alpha, beta, gamma, delta and theta) will be projected as a stunning audio-visual dreamscape. Throughout the dream sequence, this dreamscape will be a real-time reflection of the brain activity of the dreamers: as the group’s collective brain state alters, so do the sounds and images.
Finally, live musicians add the last layer of My Virtual Dream by improvising on top of each unique dream sequence.
- learn how to use brain-computer interface
- data will be collected for scientific purpose (if you choose so)
- co-create a collective Virtual Dream
- able to synchronize with other Dreamers
- observe your brain in action
- observe Dreamers as they perform with their brain waves
- immersed in a unique Virtual Dream
